| Exercise D |
Cut a ball and put it on the floor. |
First, let's add a F-Ball to your scene. We choose the "FB_wood4". Create a "Wood Ball" layer, and drop the ball in it.
We're going to cut it into an hemisphere. Although we can't edit this ball, we can apply a mask to it ! Let's go... |
Create a new layer ahead and draw a big magenta ellipse (magenta is a great color to identify the masks) as shown here.
Turn this layer into a mask. (right click in the layer's name - Mask)
Our ball is now an hemisphere.
Let's add a drop shadow. We choose the "FB_shadow_1" from the F-Ball library.
Drag'n drop it in a new layer named "Shadow", below the wood ball. Adjust its size and set its transparency to 79%.

It's time now to add a reflect onto the floor. It's very easy. |

First, Copy the woodball and paste it in place (ctrl + shift + V) in a new layer. Don't move the graphic down, it's not necessary.
| Add a transparency of 15% to the copy of the ball. That's all ! |
As you can see, it's sometimes very easy to add a realistic touch to your graphics...
| |
Enhance the glass ball with a glass shadow ! |
In your F-Balls library, you'll find the "FB_glass_green". Drag it into your scene in a new layer.
Drag and drop the "FB_shadow_glass" in your scene. This special shadow object is dedicaced to the glass effects.
| Place it in a new layer, below the ball one. Adjust it size and transparency as shown. |
| |
The ball looks great Now. Let's add a last touch of realism for our glass ball. Select it and give it some transparency, let's say.. 77%.

Isn't it lovely ? Isn't it wonderful ?
Congratulations !
