Tutorial 04 Niveau débutant
Using the Mystery buttons
Page 3/4

EXERCISE 3
An action on the Button

Although the Mystery Button is a clip, you can specify an action to it.

Suppose you have the BTM_glassball button on your scene.

Double-click it.

You will find a (hidden) layer named Hit Zone.

This is the mouse reactive aera of the button.

Make this layer visible and hide the other ones, then select it in the scene (in this example the hit zone is a copy of the graphic clip with an alpha zero ).

Now you can open the ACTION panel to edit the script.

By default the script opens a new page with Adobe homepage.
You can change it to your convenience or make whatever action you want.

EXERCISE 4
Turning anything into a Mystery Button !

The Mystery Button are available in two basic formats : A rectangle... and a circle.

Suppose you want to transform a single bitmap image into a Mystery Button.

Import the picture in your scene, transform it into a graphic object (F8 function key)

We plan to put the Mystery component in the glass bubble of our illustration.

Open the Mystery library, and deploy the BTM_Data_component folder.

Each Mystery Button has its own form and font assigned to it (you don't have to install any of these fonts, they are already included in the component).

Here we choose the Crystal component. Our glass bubble is a round shape, and we like the font of the Crystal button.

Drag and drop the BRM_letters_Crystal SWF component in front of your graphic.

You see the dotted line defining the shape of the component, and the name of the sample (Crystal).

Those dark red elements won't be visible in your published work. They are just here to allow an easier manipulation of the component.

Select the free transform tool to edit the position and shape of the dotted cercle to conform it to your needs.

Here we deformed it a little to avoid the upcoming letters to move outside the glass bubble.

Go to the parameters panel in the bottom of your screen to change the specifications.

Publish your work.

Great ! Congratulations !
